Kickboxing is said to be an influential source of Muay Thai martial art in Thailand. The Siamese soldiers of Thailand practiced a kind of boxing
known as Muay Boran during the 13th and 14th centuries. Martial art continued to evolve as a combat system until the 19th century when it became famous as a recreational sport, self-defense, and physical fitness. Osamu Noguchi, a Japanese boxing expert, aimed to develop a fighting technique that had Karate’s soul but allowed it to be purely striking. After studying Muay Thai, he combined it with the full Karate and boxing techniques, which finally became what we currently know as Kickboxing. A couple of years later, the first kickboxing organization, the Kickboxing Association was formed in Japan. Today, kickboxing is being conducted with several unique movements around the globe. Kickboxing uses agility, reflexes and energy to overcome the opponent. . IAKO, Indian Association Kickboxing organization was formed in 1993 to control and nurture kickboxing activities throughout the country.
